THE BARCELONA BLUEPRINT

Founder, Project Leader

I created the Barcelona Blueprint to connect what I saw firsthand in Barcelona with the housing challenges I’ve grown up watching in Los Angeles. Using data on rent, housing, and homelessness alongside my internship experience, I examined why LA’s short-term fixes and fragmented zoning policies continue to fall short. The project explores how Barcelona’s mid-density, mixed-use, pedestrian-focused planning offers a more resilient alternative. It then applies this framework to neighborhoods like Altadena and the Pacific Palisades to re-imagine how coordinated planning could improve affordability, infrastructure, and community connection.
